Bourgogne Tribal Show 2019

For the 4th edition, we explored the language of patterns to craft a visual identity inspired by the Memphis design movement — playing with density, rhythm and vibrant energy.
From May 30 to June 2, 2019, the Bourgogne Tribal Show returned once again to Besanceuil for a unique open-air tribal art fair. For this edition, we developed a visual identity rooted in pattern variation and vibrant colors — drawing connections between African visual culture and contemporary design.
Our starting point was the Italian Memphis movement. With its bold use of color, repetition, and graphic rhythm, it inspired us to build a modular system based on colorful sticks. These could be arranged in changing densities and proportions to generate a visual pulse — evoking both Aboriginal paintings and African textiles.

Each participating gallery was associated with a custom version of the pattern, using a distinct color palette. It was our way to visually reflect the diversity of the fair within a unified graphic language.
The catalogue was housed in a phosphorescent, silkscreen-printed box — a graphic object in itself that extended the fair’s experience all the way into the visitor’s hands.
