Closing the Caen Millennium: a year of images and shared stories

A chapter closes in Caen: the Millennium is coming to an end. A year rich in events, encounters, emotions… and images. Since 2024, MadamePolare has had the privilege of visually supporting this collective journey.
We already spoke about it in our articles on the launch of the Millennium and the Operatic Parade — two highlights of this rich 2025 season. And now, as the final chapter closes, we take a moment to reflect on a collaboration that was both demanding and fulfilling — creatively, technically, and humanly.
Back in 2024, the GIP du Millénaire entrusted us with a key mission: to develop the event-driven extension of the institutional visual identity. In other words, to bring the Millennium to life visually — in the streets, in people’s hands, on screens, day after day. Our task was to define a graphic direction capable of unifying dozens of diverse events, while allowing each one to retain its own personality. Inaugurations, concerts, shows, conferences, parades, major moments and quiet interludes — each needed a unique presence, yet all had to speak the same visual language.
We imagined a generous and symbolic graphic language, one that could adapt and unfold without ever losing its spirit. The Millennium’s logotype and typeface became our foundation. From there, each poster became a scene, a fragment of story.
Posters, brochures, programs, bookmarks, postcards, flyers, digital assets, visuals for the tram and urban signage — communication became image, rhythm, narrative. The Millennium’s identity wasn’t just about information; it embodied an atmosphere.
Thank you to the City of Caen, the GIP du Millénaire, and all the partners for your trust. And thank you to all who extended our designs with a glance, a gesture, a moment shared!
